A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Ivy!

I first found yoga at the age of 17, in a small town rec center that held class in a cramped, carpeted room in the back of the building. I knew in the first five minutes of class that yoga held something magical for me. Little did I know that I would spend the rest of my life exploring it's mystical, philosophical, and scientific components.

My educational journey has lead me to a Masters Degree in Social Emotional Development and a  Bachelors of Science in Social Work. I am a Certified Yoga Therapist  through the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. I'm also certified in accessible yoga and yoga for children and exceptional learners. Additionally, I am certified in sound and vibrational therapy.

When I'm not pouring love into SomaFlare, I lead group therapy sessions in a behavioral health hospital and in the psychiatric unit of a women's correctional facility.

I am especially fascinated with the nervous system  and using Yoga and SEL strategies to help clients understand emotion regulation through an embodied approach.  I strive to create a  calming, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment that fosters self confidence and resilience.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, dancing, trapeze, stand up paddle boarding, and of course, time on my mat.

I'd love for you to reach out and say hello, ask questions, or just let me know how yoga has impacted your life. I look forward to learning more about YOU!
